Clarity works

When people don’t get it, they don’t act.

We help teams balance story and structure to compel people to action—through research, strategy, and creative execution. We’ve worked with public sector teams, nonprofits, and brands to launch campaigns, improve performance, and build systems people actually use.

  • Firms servicing cities and government bodies require unique support when it comes to messaging strategy and design. We incorporate a design thinking approach to projects involving stakeholder engagement, planning, and coalition building.

  • For 501c3s looking to capture donor insights, advocate through social platforms, or organize messaging across multiple touchpoints — we redeploy proven tactics from DTC ecommerce to help advance your cause.

  • We know how to coalesce teams + services across marketing, brand, and media. If you’re an agency owner looking to launch a new service or product, support your internal team’s development, design systems to scale, or hire a fractional leader to step in while you take a breath — we can come alongside you as you guide your agency into it’s next phase of growth.

  • Whether you’re looking to protect market share, improve brand recall, acquire new customers, or launch a new product — our performance creative retainers include customer research, monthly creative reporting, testing strategies and tracking, new offer design, brainstorming concepts, and sourcing production partners (in-studio, lifestyle, or UGC/Creators).

Great strategy starts with
better questions.

Hi all — I’m Alex👋🏽

Founder & Managing Partner of NEED THIS FOR WORK.

Crafting better questions is a skill my team and I have developed through years of solving real challenges in business strategy and creative leadership.

We’ve worked across every part of growth—media buying, forecasting, ad briefing, production, research, positioning, planning, and creative ops. It’s a lot to coordinate, and things don’t always perform.

Most of the time, nothing is broken, it’s just not clear.

And when things aren’t clear, people don’t act.

Here are a few places we often start:

  1. Do people “get it” it a glance?

  2. Who actually wants this right now?

  3. If it works, what changes?

  4. What are people doing instead?

FAQs

  • When do teams bring you in?

Usually when something new is being launched (a product, campaign, initiative, etc.) or when something existing should be working but isn’t.

The message isn’t clear, ads aren’t performing, or the team is doing a lot of work without seeing results.

  • How do you help?

Most deliverables fall into a few areas:

    - Campaign development and creative strategy

    - Brand positioning & messaging strategy

    - Team training and workshops

    - Ad briefing and direction

    - Marketing planning and calendar design

    - Meeting and process facilitation

  • What is your hourly rate?

$300/hour for working sessions, coaching, fractional support, and product or app feedback. If you think you’ll need more than a few sessions, we can set up a retainer to make it more cost-effective.

  • Do you offer sliding scale pricing?

Yes, we offer flexible pricing for organizations whose leadership or ownership includes individuals from historically underrepresented groups. This may include, but is not limited to, businesses that are majority-owned or led by women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, people with disabilities, as well as nonprofit and community-based organizations.

Pricing is considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure alignment with project scope and overall sustainability.

This is not a needs-based discount, and we do not make assumptions about any individual’s financial position. It is one way we aim to expand access to our services across a broader range of organizations.

  • Where are you located?

We’re based in Southern California and regularly travel for workshops, production, and speaking, including out of state and internationally. If being on-site will make the work better, we’re open to it.

Travel and logistics are scoped separately.
