The City needed to engage and educate residents about the upcoming General Plan updates mandated by the State of California. City Staff hired industry-leading collaboration and strategic communications firm Kearns & West to provide all public facilitation and outreach before the update. This project aptly named Listen & Learn aimed to educate residents on the unique pillars encompassing updates and ensure their voices were heard during the process.

Hired as a subcontractor with Kearns & West, I assembled a team of copywriters and designers to present three unique slogans and visual options for City Council to consider. This project required a bespoke messaging strategy that wove into all branded materials, website applications, and official slogan usage for the entire engagement process.

The Newport, Together iconography, font selection, and color palette were raved about by stakeholders long after initial engagement process and are still widely used by the City.
